Improving services for people with epilepsy: Department of Health Action Plan in response to the National Clinical Audit of Epilepsy-Related Death was published in 2003. A mainstay of the action plan is the provision of high quality pharmaceutical care for patients living with epilepsy.
The Task Force on Medicines Partnership will contribute to improving pharmaceutical care by:
  • prioritising epilepsy in its projects;
  • piloting professional development for neurologists, epilepsy specialist nurses and clinical pharmacists around shared decision making with patients in relation to medicines; and,
  • looking at individual patient experience.
As part of this work, in 2004 Medicines Partnership developed a patient guide to review consultations for people with Epilepsy.  For more information click here.
